Charlene Crawford, Owner of Crawford Education Plus

Charlene Crawford is a certified teacher and former Director of Christian Education who has worked with children and literature for over 36 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education, a master’s degree in computers and technology in the classroom, and principal certification, and was presented with an Honorary Doctoral degree in Theology in recognition of her commitment to advancing children in Christian ministry. This children’s pastor is also the owner of Crawford Education Plus LLC, a tutoring program running successfully for 20 years that has since branched into a STEM program concentrated on programming, coding, and aviation.

Crawford was inducted into the National Association of Professional Women and the Cambridge Who’s Who in recognition of her accomplishments, and was the 1998 Outstanding Educator recipient. She is the author of several children’s books, including Adventures with Granny in the Garden, The Boy Who Cried Wolf Retold by the Wolf, and, most recently, Hope and I Are Coming Back to School, co-authored with her daughter Luna — each nominated for Best Children’s Book honors. She has also received Editor’s Choice Awards for her poems “Greatness Lives Inside of You” (2021) and “African Woman of God” (2007).

A licensed drone pilot and former talk show host for Living Abundantly, Crawford is looking ahead to her next chapter: teaching and reaching children and youth through her 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Crawford Educational Foundation Corporation (CEFC). Partnering with Crawford Education Plus, CEFC will continue to provide summer camps, workshops, and adventures for students with a focus on coding, drones, aviation, conflict resolution, health and wellness, and mindfulness.
