CK Japheth, Founder of The Innovation Village

CK Japheth has a background in economics, innovation, design thinking strategies, and management. He also has experience in talent development and employee experience. A passion he has cultivated within the start-up industry. CK is the founder of The Innovation Village, Uganda’s launchpad for leading innovators and entrepreneurs. It is this passion that inspired his foundation of MoTIV East Africa’s biggest Makerspace to create indigenous opportunities among creatives and makers through East Africa starting with Uganda.

CK was recognized by Avance Media as one of the 2021 100 Most Influential Young Africans. He has steered The Innovation Village for 10 years to become a national platform with innovation spaces in five locations across the country, including MoTIV, East Africa’s largest makerspace.

CK is building Uganda’s innovation industry across the country, leveraging public private partnerships, which are unlocking financing to various projects across the country. He has inspired foundational platforms around the key challenge of SME financing in the form of an Angel Investment Network and providing an enabling environment where startups are fast tracked to compete globally. CK has created a synergistic environment where entrepreneurs can share learning, create working partnerships, as well as open doors to markets and resources.
