Helping Small Businesses Adapt to Climate Challenges As global climate concerns and sustainability standards rise, small businesses face greater pressure to adopt environmentally responsible practices. Improving efficiency, reducing costs, and staying competitive are now goals for MSMEs in markets that value sustainability. Programs like EcoEmprende support this transition. In Mexico, MSMEs play a major role in the economy, accounting for more than half of the country’s GDP and around 70% of formal employment, underscoring the criticality of their transition to sustainable practices for long-term economic resilience. Building a Stronger Green Business Ecosystem EcoEmprende works with academic and innovation institutions, such as Tecnológico de Monterrey and Instituto Politécnico Nacional, to promote training and research in sustainability and entrepreneurship. By expanding its programs, the initiative aims to help Mexico’s small businesses adapt to environmental and economic changes and foster sustainable business models. Latest Stories
