Jessica Bolaños and Nelson Vanegas Built Goodspero to Tell Stories That Drive Meaningful Change in Houston

Posted on May 8, 2026November 3, 2026

Jessica Bolaños and Nelson Vanegas are the co-founders of Goodspero, a Houston-based video production and AI education company. Bolaños serves as CEO, bringing expertise in marketing strategy, AI adoption, and translating complex ideas into clear communication. Vanegas serves as COO, bringing deep experience in visual storytelling, video production, and AI literacy.

The two met at Univision Radio Houston in 2007 Bolaños, a Colombian American born in Houston and a published poet before her teens, and Vanegas, a Salvadoran American who came to the U.S. as an infant and spent a decade as Creative Production Director at the station. They founded Goodspero in 2014, initially using video and social media to build micro-libraries in Colombia and El Salvador. Today, the company serves impact-driven organizations, nonprofits, and leaders at the intersection of storytelling, video, marketing, and technology with clients including the City of Houston, TEDx, Google, BakerRipley, and the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Houston.

Drawing on their Colombian American and Salvadoran American roots, Bolaños and Vanegas created a documentary photo series spotlighting eight Latino and Latina small-business owners in Houston, ranging from high-tech startups to traditional crafts, challenging the narrow stereotypes often found in mainstream narratives. The series celebrates the cultural and professional diversity of Latino communities and the dynamic roles they play across American industries.

Goodspero is currently partnering with impact-driven organizations in Houston and beyond, offering video production and AI training for teams and leaders. To support their work, hire Goodspero for video production, event coverage, brand storytelling, or AI workshops, or introduce them to a mission-driven team with a story to tell. Follow them online and share their work.

Silver Lining commissioned this work from Jessica Bolaños and Nelson Vanegas as part of the small.artists Fotografía series, supported by Wells Fargo.
