(small.news) — Many AI tools that are “built for small business” are actually designed to replace the owner. Or replace staff. At Silver Lining, we built ours to protect the human in the loop.

Silver Lining has been spending a LOT of time, money, and energy investing in AI—both in how we operate as a company and in our small business growth platform, silv=r™. We’re creating automations, integrating with Claude (chosen for ethical reasons), and building features I’m genuinely excited about.

I get why the temptation is there. AI makes it easy to automate the human out of the equation, whether it’s staff, admin work, or even decision-making. But I find it so much more exciting to think about what AI can unlock instead of what it can replace. We’re using it to create significant efficiencies throughout our platform, but the goal was never to replace small business owners. It has always and will always be to make small business owners more effective, freeing them up for the parts of the job only a human can do.
