Dr. Ruth Albright, Ed.D. Owner of Savannah Music Academy

Dr. Ruth Albright is the founder of Savannah Music Academy, a Savannah, Georgia-based group piano studio she launched in 2018 for students ages 4 to 17. A seasoned piano educator with over 20 years of experience in both public schools and private instruction, she began playing at age seven, later training extensively in the National Piano Guild before transitioning her focus to teaching. Her school choruses have performed at the Georgia State Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion, earning top ratings at regional festivals.

Through Savannah Music Academy, Dr. Albright teaches students to perform in front of peers from their very first lesson, building confidence and helping them overcome stage fright early on. Her group-based approach draws on research linking music education to enhanced memory, stronger mathematical skills, and greater self-confidence. In 2024, she was named Educator of the Year by the National Association of University Women (NAUW) in recognition of her impact on Savannah’s young musicians and their families.

Dr. Albright earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Savannah State University, her Master of Education from Cambridge College, and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University.
